Technicians working in general medicine and surgical hospitals earned the most, with an average of $33,120, while technicians in nursing facilities earned an average of $31,290.
According to the American Academy of Professional Coders, coders with 10 years of experience or more average a salary of $45,000 a year. However, some outlooks have the average entry-level salary of medical billing and coding professionals higher because of the growing demand for qualified technicians.
